Server configurator in the customer portal has been redesigned

Our server configurator has been redesigned for ordering and modifying the configuration of a dedicated server in the disk section. This is a major update that will significantly reduce the likelihood of errors when setting up a server whilst also enabling users to work with disks cross multiple controllers.

Key elements of the redesign include:

  • The storage controller for each slot is now displayed on our order, reinstallation and disk upgrade pages

  • We've made partition creation more flexible with a dedicated dialog window

  • We've added support for directly connected NVMe disks

  • We've implemented a new configurator on our reinstall and Disk Upgrade pages

  • You can now use multiple controllers within a single server simultaneously

These changes will make it quicker and easier for our customers to configure servers, choose multiple controller types, and customize based on workload and performance.

Improved billing address validation for client accounts

We've improved the billing address validation process to help ensure smoother and faster account activation for our customers. By reducing the chance of incomplete or incorrect address entries, clients can now avoid delays and enjoy a more seamless onboarding experience.

Improvements for user convenience

We've put in two key Quality of Life (QoL) updates across the portal, for the convenience of our users. These include:

  1. Load balancing tools now allow sorting of upstream candidates by hostname and IP address. This makes it easier for our customers to find specific servers, organize the list in a way that makes sense, and troubleshoot problems quickly.

  2. Our customers can now update custom SSL certificates in the public API. This is a time-saver, especially for customers managing many websites or servers.

Two key portal updates

We've upgraded our customer portal in two ways:

  1. On the server selection page, you can now filter servers by:

    • CPU frequency

    • Core count

    • Disk size

    • RAM

It's also possible to search across multiple locations or filter by provisioning time. Additionally, server cards now display more technical specs, helping customers choose their server faster. Put simply, it's much easier to find the right server.

  2. The OS selection interface on the order page has been redesigned, making it more compact and easier to navigate. We'll also be adding OS logos for quick recognition - so watch this space!

Prior to these updates, customers had to either manually review the specs of each server or rely on their account manager. By improving the OS selection interface and adding flexible and convenient filtering for server selection, it is now much easier for our users to select servers that best match their specific needs.
