How Quadcode cut platform downtime by 70% with a private data center

How Quadcode cut platform downtime by 70% with a private data center

Quadcode builds trading and payments software for financial companies. Its platform is fully customizable and can go live in two weeks.

Brokerages use Quadcode’s white-label platform to run a trading business under their own brand. It includes tools a broker needs to run an exchange, such as fraud detection, transaction processing, billing, and back-office analytics.

Banks and credit unions use Quadcode’s tools to process electronic bank-to-bank payments.

Brokers have many trading platforms to choose from. The global e-brokerage market is valued at $6.46 billion in 2026, and projections estimate it will grow 8-10% a year through the 2030s. To stand out, Quadcode competes on reliability.

When Quadcode’s platform goes down or slows down, its customers lose money. “Reliability is a key selling point for us, because every second of downtime or increased latency means direct losses for our customers,” says Kirill Bolotov, CEO of Quadcode. For a broker, an outage means lost revenue, compensation claims, disputes with traders, problems with regulators, lost customers, and wasted marketing spend.

Quadcode wanted more control over the things that could affect its platform. In a shared data center, other customers’ traffic runs on the same network equipment, and maintenance happens on the provider’s schedule. Quadcode wanted to change both. “Whatever we could do to ensure no adverse impact by our network neighbors, whatever we could do to have the maintenance windows only when we need them, everything was on the table,” Kirill Bolotov says.

The challenge / What changed

Quadcode already hosted its platform with Servers.com, on dedicated servers in private racks connected to a redundant network. Its platform had 99.9% uptime. “Beyond a certain level, improvement is difficult,” Kirill Bolotov says. “We’ve done everything that was on the surface, and so have our competitors.”

The traditional way to get more control is to run your own data center environment. That means buying your own servers, renting space for them in a colocation facility, and signing contracts with network carriers. Quadcode didn’t want to take that on. “Our business is building the best trading ecosystem, not a mediocre server environment,” Kirill Bolotov says.

Instead, Quadcode asked Servers.com how it could make its platform more available without a large increase in cost. The answer came down to control. Quadcode needed to decide when maintenance happens, how much network capacity its racks get, and how its equipment is cooled. In a shared data center, those settings are standard for every customer.

The solution / What we added

Servers.com built Quadcode a private data center. A private data center is a section of a data center where every rack, server, network switch, and network connection is used by one customer only.

Because the space belongs only to Quadcode, Servers.com tailored the setup by:

  • Doubling the network connections (uplinks) on each rack, which gives each rack twice the capacity to reach the wider network.

  • Reserving capacity from network carriers for Quadcode alone, so it doesn’t share that bandwidth with other customers.

  • Adding a protection provider that specializes in financial services to defend against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which flood a platform with traffic to knock it offline. The provider connects to Quadcode’s environment through its own dedicated link.

  • Giving Quadcode control over when maintenance happens, how much uplink capacity it has, and how its equipment is cooled.

Quadcode still rents its servers from Servers.com as hosted EBM. It got the control of its own data center without buying hardware, renting colocation space, or running a facility.

The results show up in uptime and customer satisfaction. “We managed to cut platform downtime by 70% in one year since the adoption of the private data center, and had our NPS grow by 15%,” Kirill Bolotov says. “We’re improving our platform continuously, and adopting the right solution from Servers.com was one of the steps.”

  • 70%

less platform downtime in one year

  • 15%

growth in Net Promoter Score (NPS)

  • 2x

    network uplinks per rack

By partnering with Servers.com, Quadcode didn’t have to choose between the control of its own facility and the convenience of hosted servers.
